Abstract This dissertation is a collection of sixty-four pages of original poetry. The poems in this collection reflect the poet’s interest in playing with language, invention, and a variety of approaches and forms. They are predominantly a combination of the lyric and the narrative, are written in form such as sonnet, pantoum, and sestina; many are free verse, and a few are experimental.
