Five identified children/adolescents attended family music therapy sessions with their foster or adoptive families for one hour over five weeks. The sessions consisted of activities such as instrument play, listening to music, drawing to music, and song-writing. The foster/adoptive parents of the identified children/adolescents were asked to fill out a Pre-Study Questionnaire and a Post-Study Questionnaire to gain information and feedback on their perceptions of the attachment behaviors of their identified child/adolescent. The attachment behaviors were also observed and counted to determine the effect if any of the sessions on their behaviors. Results indicate that four out of five subjects showed an increase in the number of positive attachment behaviors toward their caregiver over the five weeks. Results also indicated an increase in positive behaviors toward the situation from each of the subjects.Files
