Abstract While there are different theoretical models on creativity, most attest that cognitive processes are needed in the act of creating. To find consistency amongst research and theories, this thesis analyzed research literature on creativity, in order to find plausible relationships between creativity and mental illness, primarily schizophrenia and the schizophrenia spectrum disorders.
