Abstract Does privatization of state-owned assets result in economic growth? This paper seeks to theoretically and empirically link this market reform strategy to the outcome of economic growth. By taking a deeper look at developing countries, particularly sub-Saharan Africa and juxtaposing institutional and economic variables I will be able to test the relationship between privatization and economic growth.
