Abstract This study analyzes how female characters can achieve their desires, in the following texts: Thomas Malory’s Le Morte Darthur, Geoffrey Chaucer’s “The Wife of Bath’s Tale,” and Marie de France’s “Lanval”. Building on the theories of Michel de Certeau and Helene Cixious, this study focuses on power and gender relations.
